Ahmet TEMEL, MD is an ophthalmologist working in the field of LV rehabilitation for 17 years. He am the pioneer of LV work in Turkey and the chief of the Visual Rehabilitation Center of Marmara University Hospital-Istanbul, Turkey.

As well as my job at Marmara University Hospital, I run a center especially working for the rehabilitation of visually handicapped. The name of this center is: Spot Az Gorenlere Yardım Merkezi. My experience in Low vision is now summing up 19 years.

All patients are welcome to benefit from our high expertise on low vision rehabilitation and devices. Our special field of interest is focussed on enhancing functional vision in patients with macular degeneration. Eccentric viewing training as well as the assessment of so-called high power yoked prism spectacles to reduce the disadvantages of an averted gaze caused by eccentric viewing behaviour. Furthermore our institute is specialized in the fitting of medical contact lenses (so-called scleral lenses) for corneal irregularities and profound dry eye syndrome as in Sjögren and Facial hemiatrophy.
