Dr. Carmen Suarez Castro served as faculty at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico- School of Optometry from 1986 to 1990 where she taught the Low Vision course , the lab and directed the Low Vision Clinic.

Since 1989 Dr. Suarez Castro has been very active in the department of Special Education performing the low vision evaluations to the students registered with visual impairment. She also serves as resource for Vocational Rehabilitation and the Hermansky-Pudlack Chapter in Puerto Rico.

Optometrics/PR Low Vision Center offers a complete Low Vision Service. Our clinic was established in 1989 by Dra. Carmen Suarez Castro soon after completing her doctorate and a postgraduate residency in Low Vision from Southern California College of Optometry.
